UK Help Agent

Terms of use

1. What this is

UK Help Agent is an information service. It explains letters and situations in plain language and helps you write a letter. It is not legal, financial or medical advice. We are not a government body. Results are produced by software and can contain mistakes. Check anything important with the sender of the letter, Citizens Advice or a qualified professional.

2. Who can use it

You must be 18 or over.

3. What we do not write letters for

We do not write letters about:

We may still explain such a letter, but we will point you to the right place.

4. Prices and payment

Prices include VAT where it applies. Payment is taken by Stripe. There is no subscription and no account. You pay once, before the content is provided, and you get it straight after payment.

5. Your rights: cancelling and faulty content

Cancelling. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel a contract made online. For digital content (our letters, translations and form help) this right ends once the content is provided, if you asked for it to be provided straight away and confirmed that you understand you lose the right to cancel (regulation 37). We ask you for that request and confirmation on the payment page, and we confirm it in your purchase confirmation, which you can download on the result page.

If something is wrong. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is not:

  1. Use "Something is wrong? Fix this letter" under the letter, or tell us in the help chat. We will correct it for free.
  2. If we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, write to support@ukhelpagent.co.uk with a screenshot of the problem and the reference from your purchase confirmation. We will reduce the price or refund it in full, as the law provides.

We do not refund content that was correct and as described. This does not affect any other right you have by law.

6. Your responsibilities

You decide whether to send a letter. You are responsible for checking that the details in it are true and complete, and for sending it on time. Do not use the service to deceive anyone or to write false statements.

7. Our responsibility

We do our best, but we do not promise that results are complete or right for your case. Our total responsibility to you for any claim linked to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

8. Your content

We do not save your recordings, letters or results (see the privacy policy). You keep all rights in what you send us. We use it only to give you the result.

9. Changes

We may change these terms. The terms in force when you pay apply to that purchase.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, but if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also use your local courts.
